Melungeon Heritage Association’s 24th Union Update

Published by:

Our members and visitors safety and health is of our utmost priority, and that is why we have made the difficult, but prudent decision in canceling this year’s Union. We are in the process of working on an alternative for the Union with a special podcast with this year’s speakers. That way members and anyone interested in Melungeon history, can listen to each speaker from the safety of their homes. The speakers for this year have been asked to come back for next year’s Union, which will still be at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. The podcast will not be their full presentations, but more of an overview of their projects, that way they can still give a full presentation at next year’s Union. We will be posting further details about the podcast in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at mhainc2000@yahoo.com.

MHA 24th Union

Published by:

We have received a couple of concerns about the Coronavirus in regards to our 24th Union in June. Right now Berea College has taken pre-cautionary measures for the students, but as far as their summer events and conferences go, they are still on. Their leadership team and ours, are assessing the risks and are closely monitoring the situation. Our members and visitors safety is of our utmost priority, and we will be keeping updates on reports from the scientific and medical community.
We are holding off on starting the pre-Registration process at this time. We are optimistic that our 24th Union will continue as scheduled, and we will keep you updated if anything changes. If you have any questions or further concerns, you can contact us at mhainc2000@yahoo.com.
